This set was used by the U S Forest Service. The Steel nails were put into a tree scheduled to be cut down. When the tree was cut down, the nails were then placed in the stump to verify permission to remove the tree. The "US" nails come in 2 different shank positions. On one the shank is in line with the head, on the second variety the shank is at a 45° angle to the head. The aluminum hubbard was probably used for identifying poles on USFS property. |
